ABC has confirmed a raft of series renewals for the 2007-08 television season.

Freshman shows Brothers & Sisters, Ugly Betty and Men In Trees have all been picked up for a second year.

Established shows confirmed for new seasons are The Bachelor, Boston Legal, Dancing with the Stars, Desperate Housewives, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, Grey's Anatomy, Jimmy Kimmel Live and Lost.

"We have had a strong year, with two of the season’s breakout hits, Ugly Betty and Brothers & Sisters, and the solid performance of Men in Trees” said ABC entertainment president Stephen McPherson. “We are pleased that viewers have invested in these new favourites along with our other returning series. These shows provide us with a substantial foundation to make 07-08 our best schedule yet."

Yeah I also heard that, but I am positive that a contract has something in it that gives security to ABC when rating suddenly go down. I mean, ABC would not risk to loose money, so if the ratings go down ABC can easily break that contract. And even if ABC would have to pay for breaking it, the loose of money would be lower then 4 years of an unsuccessful show.

Did it make sense?! LOL
