The novelty of rolling chairs for guests to be wheeled over the famous Boardwalk was introduced in 1884.

With the economy of air travel to other resorts after World War II, Atlantic City experienced a continuous and serious decline in tourist activities. To help revitalize the city, legalized gambling in the city was approved by state referendum in 1976. The casinos provided jobs and helped the economy of the surrounding area, but they did little to halt the decline of Atlantic City's poorer neighborhoods.

Atlantic City, is still America's Favorite Playground though, it is the one place where you can have it all. Enjoy the excitement of 13 fabulous, 24-hour world class casinos, Entertainment superstars appearing throughout the year. Stroll the world-famous Boardwalk and visit the famous Steel Pier or visit the beautiful Marina. Watch the sun set over the Atlantic Ocean while enjoying dining in one of the many fabulous resturants.
