That was a charming episode. Loved some of the humour. Younger looked funny with that hat, mind you so did Rosie. Younger reminded me the scare crow in Wizard of Oz speaking of which it was interesting that David chose to sing Over The Rainbow. Not sure of the significance of that, perhaps it was one of Gina's favourite. There was also funny scenes of Ventriss trying to dance and I loved it was Mrs. Jowett grabbed Oscar...could there be a relationship brewing?

One thing I would have added a bit more of would be a father/daughter type chat between Oscar and Gina...in fact I was waiting for Oscar to say something like he thinks of Gina as his daughter or something.

I too liked the father /daughter rapport between Oscar and Gina and Mrs. Jowett`s approach to asking Oscar to dance, loved that bit too..
I was surprised that David sung "Over the Rainbow", he sang better than the band. maybe it was a precog to future events?
I thought Younger looked natty, and like the way he and Rob were trying to cheer up Phil about the wedding and the cottage(bluebirds fly over the rainbow , why ,oh why, can`t I?). Did they ever get the plumber or it that another story?
I cried with Albert not wanting to give up his independence and misunderstanding his daughter and her him,how very sad. Glad that it turned out best in the end as Gina and Phil got their cottage after all(they were over the rainbow then) and Peggy got to do some decorating. But the stuffed owl didn`t see it again, whew!

The Dreams that you dream
may not always come about
but that love that we share
through time and ware help keep the dreams alive.

For one day those dreams will come true
and I`ll be there to share some of them with you
without you the dreams wouldn`t be true
and I would be blue
But together our love will survive.

We were so looking forward to this episode at our house and it didn't disappoint. The winter weather in Aidensfield seemed to matched our current weather here in Southern Ontario.

I thought shots of the graveyard were chilling and cleverly forebode the event (Phil's death) we are still dreading here in Canada.

We hoped to catch a glimpse of Mrs. Ventress and Mrs. Miller at the wedding but as usual they remain a mystery.

The character of Jeff Younger is being developed nicely and finding its way into our hearts.

Stay warm everyone! We are under a "severe wind warning" here today. The temperature dropped quite suddenly during the night into the minus "teens". School has been cancelled and there are power outages all around us.

My thoughts are with you Gazebo as it is very cold here in Southern Ontario but better day ahead tomorrow I hear. The grave scene was truly one of those touching moments. As we saw the snow fly in that episode it reminded me that we haven't scene a Christmas episode in a while.

As we saw the snow fly in that episode it reminded me that we haven't scene a Christmas episode in a while.

It's a shame. Heartbeat Christmas episodes were always so good and festive. I suspect it has something to do with the way ITV are now splitting the series up and they can't be absolutely sure at the time of production which episode will fall nearest to Christmas.
