Heartbeat back...on the 12th?

According to the RadioTimes website, Heartbeat is on again on the 12th with an episode called Family Matters. I can't find it listed as part of any previous series, so could it be series 18 already? I sense some angry The Royal fans...

I know I wanted to see what was coming on next and that was listed. I'm fairly sure it must be a mistake because the commentator clearly said it was the last in the season last night and I know ITV have messed around with the schedule but going straight from one season to another is insane. I expect when we check back in a few days it'll be listed as something else, perhaps The Royal. :)

It's very possible it's a mistake. Last night was definitely the last episode of series 17, but this is the usual time of the year when they start the new series so I guess it's not entirely impossible that they're jumping straight into series 18. The TV mags tomorrow should tell us more (in the 'Next Week' section), if not we'll just have to wait and see.

yeah i've just noticed this, seems a little odd.

i think it should have at least a month off. if it were upto me i'd start season 18 in December, and run it straight through (maybe with a 3 week break half way through), to re-align it back to normality!

I think it must be the new series because there is now a 'New' symbol next to the listing on RadioTimes. It's quick, but I'm excited. I do love Heartbeat.

I hope its right but ITV will only show like 3 episodes, then take it off again, so i'm slightly annoyed!

There probably won't be that many episodes 'cos they are planning to finish showing the series of The Royal that they are halfway through. Soz.

I do wish they would show the entire series in one go.
All this splitting it up drives me mad.
They do the same with The Royal as well.
